The match started exactly as Goole had planned with Fat Dads having majority of the ball and Port Goole trying to turn them over quickly on the break. The Port stuck to the job in hand very well by playing a low block and inviting Fat Dads into there half before applying pressure to the attack.
Fat Dads weren't short of chances in the first half but a missed penalty saw the 2 teams go into half time at 0-0.
As we went into the second half, Port Goole changed formation and attempted to offer more of an attacking threat but this obviously left us more vulnerable at the back.
The opening goal of the afternoon eventually fell to Fat Dads early in the second half, a cross came in which wasn't dealt with and saw a goalmouth scramble before Fat Dads poked it into the back of the net. 1-0 Fat Dads United.
As the second half grew, so did Fat Dads. They created more chances, offered more passes and really took control. Eventually they doubled there advantage after a long range shot took a deflection and caught Goalkeeper Alfie Watson off balance and gave Fat Dads a 2-0 lead.
The final goal of the afternoon came from a cross into the box and a tap in finish from close range secured 3 goals and 3 points for Fat Dads United. Fat Dads 3-0 Port Goole.
Thank you to Billy and the Fat Dads for a fantastic game of football for a great cause and raising much needed funds for charity.
MOTM was awarded to Michael Poulton, Michael has grown in confidence and really cemented a starting position in the back 4. Congratulations Mikey!
